Electrical Safety Testing
UL in Australasia provides a comprehensive electrical type-testing service at both its Auckland and Christchurch laboratories and can also facilitate access to many of the best electrical safety test facilities around the world.
UL in Australasia provides expansive EMC test facilities at its new Christchurch EMC laboratory, with a number of shielded rooms and a separate open area test site.
UL's Auckland laboratory is able to provide accredited Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) testing for external power supplies, electric hot water heaters (for the New Zealand market only) and set top boxes. It also carries out standby power testing.
Energy Meter Testing
UL has 10+ years of experience in energy meter testing in its Christchurch laboratory and serves as the UL global centre of excellence in this area.
As well as being a requirement in many standards' type and approvals tests, environmental testing is a tool for troubleshooting and for proving product integrity.
UL is accredited by JAS-ANZ as a certification body for electrical products and can issue Certificates of Approval allowing high risk products (declared articles) to be sold on the Australian and New Zealand markets. Its Auckland laboratory is an accredited CB laboratory enabling the issue of CB certificates through UL Demko in Denmark.
