UL Warns of Potentially Hazardous Decorative Lighting Strings

NORTHBROOK, Ill., - Dec. 21, 2007 - Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers and retailers that decorative lighting strings manufactured by Weinace Decorative Co. Ltd. may pose a shock or fire hazard.

Date of Manufacture: April 2007 to present

Manufacturer: Weinace Decorative Co. Ltd.

Hazard: The decorative light strings are not constructed in compliance with UL's safety standard. These products may overheat creating a potential risk of electric shock and fire to users.
