NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Dec. 21, 2006 - Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is notifying commercial users and consumers that solution tanks manufactured by NSS Enterprises Inc. and installed on NSS Mustang floor-finishing machines do not meet UL safety requirements. The floor-finishing machine when used in combination with the solution tank may pose a hazard to users. Although the floor-finishing machine is authorized to bear the UL Mark for the United States and Canada, it was not evaluated in combination with the optional solution tank.

Name of Product: Deluxe Solution Tanks. The 2-gallon, model NSS #5094761, and the 4-gallon, model NSS #5094751, solution tanks are affected.

Units: 200 units in the field

Manufacturer: NSS Enterprises Inc. in Toledo, Ohio

Date of Manufacture: Nov. 2002 to Aug. 2006

Identification: The solution tanks are used on floor polisher/scrubbers that have 17- or 20-inch work pads. The motor housing of the tanks is marked: "Mustang 17." or " Mustang 20."

Hazard: If the solution tank or hose leaks, cleaning solution may come in contact with live electrical parts on the floor-finishing machine, posing a risk of electric shock.

What you should do: UL recommends that users discontinue using the solution tank immediately and contact NSS Enterprises Inc. at +1 800 677-1663 to arrange for return of the tank.
