Choose UL for Your ISO 14001 AuditWhat is ISO 14001?ISO 14000 refers to a series of voluntary international standards relating to environmental management systems (EMS). ISO 14001 specifies the actual requirements for an EMS and is used for auditing purposes. ISO 14001 consists of six sections:
Why register?ISO 14001 registration can provide several benefits to organizations, including improvements in environmental performance, increased efficiency and an improved reputation among external stakeholders. An ISO 14001 audit is a conformance audit, NOT a regulatory or compliance audit. During the audit, your registrar will seek objective evidence that you have a system in place for identifying and accessing regulatory and other requirements, which reflects your commitment to comply with them. UL's audit reports document areas of conformance and nonconformance against provisions in ISO 14001. Why UL?The audit process can identify opportunities for improvement in your management system. When you successfully complete UL's ISO 14001 registration process, you will be registered to a management system environmental standard with worldwide recognition. As a registration body, UL is accredited to ensure that our system is in compliance with international standards, such as ISO/IEC Guide 62 and ISO/IEC Guide 66. In fact, UL is accredited by multiple organizations for ISO 14001, including ANAB, InMetro (Brazil) and UKAS (United Kingdom). Although one accreditation is sufficient for a registration body, these additional accreditations broaden our worldwide recognition.
