NOM Mark Product Certification Organization (PCO)

UL is an independent organization with more than a century of experience in product safety and compliance evaluation, among which are product certifications based on Mexican Official Standards (NOM) and Mexican Standards (NMX).

On Tuesday, August 17, the Ministry of Economy published an executive order that recognizes the equivalence of certain U.S. and Canadian issued certifications with those issued in accordance to the Mexican Official Standards (NOM) by Mexican certification organizations. Compliance system overview

The following sections provide information on product certification based on NOM and related normative documents.

NOM PCO services:  Certification schemes (modalities) used to certify different kinds of products with related requirements and the processes a product must be put through for evaluation and certification purposes.

Legal frame:  Foundations of Conformity Assessment systems used in Mexico.

Standards:  Product-specific normative documents and Mexican Official Standards (NOM) available for download related to our accreditation scope.
