UL Warns of a Potentially Hazardous Soldering Gun

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Sept. 26, 2005 - Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is notifying consumers that the electric soldering guns sold under the Valley brand name do not meet UL safety requirements and may pose a hazard to users. This product has not been evaluated for safety by UL and bears a counterfeit UL Mark.

Identification:
On the Product: The product has label with the description "ELECTRIC SOLDERING GUN." The electrical rating is listed as "100W AC110V 60HZ"
On the Packaging: The brand name "VALLEY" with the descriptions "ITEM NO: ETSGS-100C" and "100-Watt 3 PC Electric Soldering Gun." A counterfeit UL Mark is displayed on the packaging.

What you should do: UL recommends that users stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase.
