UL, DATASYST Engineering & Testing Services cooperate in NEBS ventureDelafield, Wis. - April 6, 2004 -- DATASYST Engineering & Testing Services, Inc. and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) today announced an agreement to deliver certified Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS) Testing to telecommunications suppliers. The agreement provides customers of both UL and DATASYST local access to a qualified Verizon Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL) for NEBS through UL. The agreement went into effect in March 2004, as part of Verizon's Independent Testing Laboratories NEBS Testing Certification Witnessing Program (NEBS-TCWP). It covers components of NEBS, such as earthquake/seismic, transportation vibration, environmental (hot/cold/humidity) and altitude tests. As part of the agreement, a full-time UL engineer will be onsite at DATASYST to witness the certified NEBS tests. "DATASYST has great enthusiasm for a mutually beneficial NEBS relationship with UL, as it provides clients the value and convenience of a local resource for Verizon certified testing," said Andrew Hoisington, Operations Director, DATASYST, "Naturally, we anticipate exploring other ways our services may complement each other."
