Intermediate Applicant (IA) service

Satellite dishUtilizing UL's global network of affiliates, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) partners, key constituents, and other agencies and authorities, Market Access Solutions helps obtain the marks and certificates needed to enter your product into any market in the world.

Whenever possible, this is done using UL data obtained locally. However, when necessary, it may involve shipping samples to foreign agency laboratories for evaluation. When faced with this situation, you may benefits from the services of an intermediate applicant in order to obtain the desired international certification. UL's Market Access Solutions Department can act on your behalf in a vast number of countries.

As an intermediate applicant, UL will:

  • Provide completed application forms and open projects with international agencies on your company's behalf;
  • Confirm test sample requirements;
  • Confirm the applicable testing time frame;
  • Identify if we can be involved in the testing process in the country of interest;
  • Review any constructional data forms or specification sheets requested by the applicable agencies;
  • Facilitate payment of all charges associated with the new work project (excluding any annual fees);
  • Submit all requested samples and documentation to the applicable agencies;
  • Follow up with the applicable agencies on the project status through completion; and
  • Provide regular project status updates to your company.
