Start the process now

Manufacturers are under increasing regulatory pressures to demonstrate their products' ability to meet emissions regulations and demonstrate their products’ immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI). EMC testing is now a requirement of many global conformance and safety standards.

International EMC MarkFour of the world's leading testing and certification organizations -- Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), TÜV Product Service GmbH (TÜV PS), VDE Prüf- und Zertifizierungsinstitut (VDE) and Istituto Italiano del Marchio de Qualità (IMQ). -- have teamed up to introduce the International "emc-Mark" to world manufacturers.

UL can assist manufacturers in meeting the international EMC mark requirements for the European Union EMC Directives, U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Industry Canada, the Voluntary Control Council for Interference (VCCI) in Japan, and Australia Communications Authority (ACA)

Advantages for world manufacturers

UL's EMC facilities at UL's four U.S. locations (Melville, N.Y., Research Triangle Park, N.C., Northbrook, Ill., and Santa Clara, Calif.), at UL International Italia S.r.l. in Europe and UL Japan Co., Ltd. in Asia are fully equipped to test your products to the combined EMC compatibility requirements of the United States, Japan, Australia and Europe.

Through one product submittal, UL can provide manufacturers with:

  • Declaration certificate that identifies products meet EMC regulations of participating world markets
  • Easily identifiable holographic mark
  • Combined services including product safety certification, global EMC conformance and quality registration assessment with one product submittal
  • Testing for compliance with European Directives, the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 47, the Voluntary Control Council for Interference (VCCI) of Japan, and the Australia Communications Authority (ACA) at a single site
  • Testing to EMC requirements of any combination of these four world markets
