UL announces new IECEx Scheme accreditation(Note: You may view a copy of UL's IECEx Scheme accreditation certificate.)
The IECEx is a multilateral conformity assessment scheme based on IEC standards that offers a single international assessment and test report (ATR) for acceptance in all participating countries - eliminating the need for duplicate testing. These IECEx Scheme ATRs can be taken to any of the participating countries to obtain certification to whatever the applicable requirements may be - whether local, regional, or global. For the hazardous locations market, twenty-two (22) countries across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are accepting these IECEx Scheme ATRs for in-country certification. Now you can reduce your testing and certification costs while broadening your ability to get your hazardous locations products to new and emerging markets. UL maintains testing and certification expertise in all hazardous locations area classifications, protection methods and product categories - from intrinsically safe apparatus to flameproof control stations to increased safety luminaires to Zone 2 process equipment. In addition, UL has locally based HazLoc staff in Northbrook, Ill. (US), UL International Demko A/S (EU), and UL do Brasil (Brazil). By combining UL's locally based HazLoc accredited expertise with IECEx Scheme country partnerships, UL is now solely positioned to meet your global requirements for hazardous locations safety testing and certification through single points of contact. Take advantage of our expanded IECEx Scheme accreditation service and convenience of having all testing and communication handled through one location. Just let us know your schedule and an IECEx Scheme ATR can be completed to meet your existing market requirements. Improve your ability TODAY to get your products into untapped markets faster than ever before! Learn details on the overall Scheme and the US involvement in the Scheme. If you have an existing ATR, you may submit it to pursue global certification with UL under the IECEx Scheme. If you do not as yet have an issued ATR, and are interested in pursuing global certification with UL under the IECEx Scheme - or for comments or questions on any issues associated with hazardous locations - please click here. |
