The UL advantage
UL is a third-party certification organization that not only meets the accreditation requirements listed below, but will also get your verification completed in a timely and thorough manner.
Impartial review
As an independent, third party certification organization, UL can provide impartial judgment of a manufacturer's declared energy efficiency ratings to show compliance with energy regulations.
Canada's regulations require third-party verification of product conformance with energy standards. However, U.S. energy regulations permit, for certain product types, supplier declarations as a method of demonstrating compliance.
When required through regulations, UL can provide credible and accepted third-party verification of compliance with Canada's and the U.S. energy efficiency standards.
Conservation of resources
Conserving resources, including energy, is a marketplace demand. Also, using less energy reduces emissions of greenhouse gases, which has been linked to warming of the earth's climate. Cost-conscious consumers are checking Energy Guide Labels and making comparisons as part of their purchasing decisions.
As a result, distributors, retailers and others are carrying energy-verified products over non-energy-verified products, even when they are not required to do so. Verified energy-efficiency ratings are a very specific way for manufacturers to differentiate their product models from comparable competitor models.
