UL's complete Verification programs cover safety, performance, quality assurance, unannounced factory follow-up inspection and follow-up testing at UL. UL Verification helps consumers, specifiers, distributors and manufacturers identify cabling products that meet nationally recognized safety requirements as well as industry specifications for performance and quality. Appliance wiring materials
Unlike most wire categories, appliance wiring material (AWM) is a Recognized Component used in UL Listed or Classified end products. AWM wires are intended as factory-installed or factory-provided components of complete equipment submitted for investigation, rather than for direct separate installation in the field. The final acceptance of the component depends on its installation and use in or with complete equipment submitted to UL. Learn more.
LAN cable
LAN cable products are verified by UL to various industry standards. Product manufacturers covered under any of UL's performance-testing programs must establish and maintain a quality program that follows the quality assurance guidelines of recognized quality standards, such as ISO 9002 of the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9000 Series. Lead and cadmium
UL offers three quality analysis options that are commonly used to address the current international green program requirements for lead and cadmium. UL tests are based on methods outlined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and European Standards.
Optical fiber cable
UL tests raceways and fittings for installation of nonconductive optical fiber cables in accordance with Article 770 of the National Electrical Code, and communications cables in accordance with Article 800 of the National Electrical Code. Listing includes pliable lengths, rigid straight sections, elbows, bends and fittings such as expansion joints, female and male adapters, and couplings. Individual raceway systems differ in their construction and therefore their components are not interchangeable with other raceways or fittings of other systems. Learn more.
