Drinking water analytical services

Analytical excellence, exceptional service

NELACTurn to UL for the technical expertise and analytical experience you would expect from the most certified drinking water laboratory in the country. For more than 20 years, we have provided the drinking water community with a unique combination of technical and regulatory expertise combined with unmatched customer service. Our extensive analysis experience with drinking water and other clean water samples assures you that your testing will meet all applicable monitoring requirements, whether you are complying with complex drinking water regulations or analyzing for an emerging contaminant.

At our state-of-the-art, 70,000-square-foot facility, we perform virtually all analyses required under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), including:

  • Dioxin
  • Disinfection byproducts
  • Inorganic constituents
  • Metals
  • Microbiological parameters
  • Organic constituents
  • Radiological parameters

We have analyzed more than 2.5 million water samples for thousands of bottlers, public water supplies, engineering firms and government agencies, including the EPA and the military. In fact, we conduct analyses of drinking water sites from around the world for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.

We also recognize that your analytical requirements may extend beyond compliance analyses. Our cutting-edge research and development department is equipped to offer analyses for many emerging contaminants, as well as new method development as requested. And if you suspect a problem with your water supply, our emergency response program is available 24 hours a day.

Regulatory expertise

We take pride not only in our technical expertise but also our in-depth knowledge of existing and upcoming drinking water regulations. We continuously evaluate and update our services to assist you in meeting increasingly complex monitoring requirements. Our staff's in-depth knowledge of regulations is invaluable as you develop and implement your monitoring schedules, confident that your data will be accepted by regulatory agencies.

Emerging contaminant capabilities

With a dedicated research and development department, UL remains a leader in providing analyses for contaminants of emerging concern in drinking water -- before they are regulated.
