RFI becomes the first accredited GlobalPlatform laboratory
RFI Global Services, a UL company, became the first accredited GlobalPlatform laboratory in March 2011. GlobalPlatform technology is essential for markets such as finance, mobile/telecom, government, healthcare, retail and transit. It enables the development of a trusted end-to-end solution for multiple applications embedded on secure chip technology, which serve multiple actors and supports several business models.
With over 20 years of experience in helping customers through the approval process, RFI's expertise covers a wide range of technologies, including cellular, wireless and smart card technologies, with particular emphasis on convergent products that combine multiple technologies. RFI has been a strong supporter of open standards and first joined GlobalPlatform in 2009 as part of its strategy for developing its mobile payments and security approvals services.
In addition, in order to offer GlobalPlatform UICC Configuration compliance testing services, RFI has chosen the GALITT as its partner in testing tool.
Both GALITT and RFI have been involved in GlobalPlatform technology for several years. To evaluate functional compliance to GlobalPlatform's UICC Configuration, RFI has chosen the KaNest®-ICC GP UICC Card Test Suite from GALITT. The KaNest®-ICC GP UICC
Card Test Suite is the first test tool qualified by GlobalPlatform to be officially used to evaluate GlobalPlatform UICC platforms.
GALITT has indeed taken an active role in the GlobalPlatform Card Compliance Program, implementing the test plans released for the UICC configuration. Both companies are proud to combine their skills to provide the GlobalPlatform qualified stamp of approval to products that successfully undergo testing.
