Stay tuned by joining the HBSE LinkedIn group

As a global organization with multiple lines of business, UL is keen to stay in touch with our customers worldwide through social networking media and we are happy to announce the launch of our first social networking site for Hazard Based Safety Engineering (HBSE) in LinkedIn, the business networking site (registration required).

Kevin Ravo, General Manager for Technology and Regulations said, “by setting up the social networking website, we aim to provide a knowledge resource in HSBE through engaging industry influencers and customer representatives to share and exchange news, best practices and ideas.

“This Group will look at the ongoing HSBE development in Applied Safety Science and Engineering Techniques (ASSET) as well as the ongoing development of the related IEC 62368-1 standard and the various national versions of this standard being introduced.”

“We will also post information such as new training courses and events, new services, regulations/standards updates as well as new technical papers and presentations.  Group members will have real time access to the same set of information regardless where they are.”

As a leader in HBSE education and related standards development, UL’s HBSE Group will look at product safety starting with the identification of hazards, transfer mechanisms, safeguards and their effectiveness, which is an approach similarly adopted by the new international hazard based standard, IEC 62368-1 with regard to product safety for high tech products.  This Group will be a valuable resource for HBSE, ASSET, IEC 62368-1 and other related information.
