Nansha laboratory offers UL verification services in China
In 2010, UL invested in the establishment of a verification services laboratory in Guangzhou, China. The laboratory is located in the Nansha Technology Innovation Centre, with an initial size of 3,250 square meters extending over two floors.
Out of this total floor area, around 1,000 square meters is dedicated to Lighting/ LED testing. This facility houses state-of-the art testing equipment, which includes multiple goniophotometers and integrating spheres of varying sizes. We have completed the International Accreditation Service (IAS) audit and are in the process of completing other essential global accreditations for this lab including National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) and China National Accreditation Service (CNAS):
- Energy Star Integral Lamp Test Package;
- Energy Star Luminaire Test Package;
- Lighting Facts Label Test Package;
- Integrating Sphere / Type C Goniophotometry to IESNA-LM79, IESNA-LM80;
- Lighting Performance Testing.
In broad terms, the Nansha Laboratory provides customized testing services, including performance testing of household appliances, LED and lighting photometric testing, product reliability testing, energy efficiency testing and product inspections and factory audits. For energy efficiency testing, Nansha Laboratory provides ENERGY STAR®, NRCan, ErP, MEPS, CEC and DoE testing. These tests and audits are performed at various stages from product design to pre-shipment.
In cooperation with other UL laboratories and partner laboratories, the Nansha laboratory is also capable of offering services such as chemical testing and analysis, EMC testing, electrical and electronics testing, hardlines and softlines testing, as well as global inspections.
Targeted at manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers, UL Verification Services help strengthen quality management throughout the retail supply chain, by ensuring compliance with customer- or buyer-defined parameters and respective regulation requirements.
