Labels
UL has two separate and distinct programs for labels. One program covers label suppliers (printers) that produce and distribute labels bearing a UL Mark. This program is known as the "Authorized Label Suppliers Program." The other program covers labels that display safety and warning related information on UL Certified components and products. At UL we refer to this type of label as a "Marking & Labeling System."

If you are a label converter and wish to reproduce the UL Mark, you must be part of the Authorized Label Supplier Program. Click here for additional information.
Marking & Labeling Systems - Labels Bearing Safety Information
The Marking & Labeling Systems program covers labels (nameplates or markers) and label materials that have been submitted to UL for evaluation in accordance with prescribed permanence of marking performance requirements so they can be used to display required safety information on UL Certified products. When the UL Certification Mark and required safety information are printed on the same label (referred to as a combination or custom label), the label supplier/printer must be part of the Authorized Label Suppliers program and the label must meet the performance requirements covered by the Marking & Labeling Systems program.
