Coatings, Organic, for Steel Enclosures of Outdoor-use Electrical Equipment (DTOV2)
This category covers organic coatings (e.g. paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes) intended for use as protection against atmospheric corrosion of steel enclosures of outdoor-use electrical equipment. The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is ANSI/UL 1332, "Organic Coatings for Steel Enclosures for Outdoor Use Electrical Equipment."
Coatings, Metallic (DTHW2)
This category covers metallic coatings, including zinc, zinc-iron, aluminum-zinc, zinc-aluminum-magnesium and zinc-nickel alloy and the steel substrates to which they are applied. The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is ASTM A653/A653M, "Standard Specification for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy-Coated (Galvannealed) by the Hot-Dip Process." Additional standards may be utilized to investigate other metallic coating types/designations if found to be appropriate.
This category covers organic coatings intended for use as protection against corrosion of metal-enclosed, low-voltage-power circuit-breaker switchgear. The corrosion protection /coating (paint) qualification test requirements for these assemblies are outlined in UL 1558, "Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear," and ANSI/IEEE C37.20.1, "IEEE Standard for Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear."
