An important part of designing and building a safe, code compliant structure is specifying and utilizing equipment, materials, and assemblies that have been evaluated to nationally recognized safety standards. These standards are often specified in model building, fire and residential codes, and in installation standards such as NFPA codes and standards.
UL offers many certification services to help you provide your clients with code compliant designs. Utilizing the proper UL Listed equipment and UL certified construction products and assemblies simplifies the process for gaining necessary approvals from building officials and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). It also eliminates delays and costs associated with having to deal with the use of non-certified products that are red tagged or rejected by the AHJ.
