SAR Testing

When you need to show that your wireless communications device meets the latest safety standards, use UL, the global leader. We know that getting accurate and reliable electromagnetic near-field test data is just half the battle, but getting it when you need it most makes all the difference. That's why UL offers fully automated near-field dosimetric measurement capability.

Current safety regulations for wireless devices such as FCC and CENELEC rely on measurements of specific absorption rates (SAR) to verify compliance with applicable near-field exposure limits. UL uses advanced robotic measurement technology to capture three-dimensional SAR distribution in human "phantom" models. Our measurement system automatically scans near-field radiated energy absorbed in tissue-simulating materials and precisely calculates the spatial peak SAR averaged over time. SAR test data is presented in an easy to read graphical format for design verification and agency approvals.

UL also offers the telecommunications industry a full range of testing and evaluation services to worldwide standards including product safety, EMC, NEBS, ETSI, network compatibility, and quality systems at our state-of-the-art facilities.

Compliance testing has never been easier.
