Testing logistics

  • Length of investigation
Six weeks are typically required to complete a project in this category. However, we find that manufacturers are often looking for Listing very quickly, within a week of their submittal letter. In these cases, we can visit the client's manufacturing facility and conduct the tests and evaluations on-site.
  • Listing for products currently in use
If you have products installed in an arcade or other gaming environment that do not have the Listing Mark on them, UL can perform what is called a Field Evaluation at that location. If the product complies with the requirements, it receives a Field Evaluated Product Mark. This evaluation only covers the product at that location. To find out more about Field Evaluations, please reference the Field Evaluation section.
  • Evaluation for future production runs
Products can also be evaluated for compliance to UL 22 either at a UL office or at the installation site. If the product is eligible for UL Listing, the manufacturer can apply the UL Listing Mark on future production runs of that unit. In addition, after a product is eligible for Listing, a Field Inspection can be conducted. If the product passes inspection, the UL Listing Mark can be applied to the product in a location other than the manufacturing site.
