Qualified contractor programs

For many years, UL has been Classifying firestops and spray-applied fire-resistive materials (SFRMs) and Listing them in the UL Fire Resistance Directory. Now, through the UL qualified contractor program, UL provides the industry with a way to identify contractor firms involved in the installation of firestops and SFRMs that have been assessed by an independent third party. The contractor firm systems audited under this program take an integrated approach towards controlling the processes and addressing architectural, authorities having jurisdiction, and customer requirements.  Learn more.

Sprinkler systems

The UL fire safety division's suppression team supports manufacturers, regulatory authorities, building owners and insurance companies with certification and customized testing services for a variety of suppression equipment, including products for residential and commercial sprinkler systems. In addition, UL directories contain a list of companies that have demonstrated compliance with UL requirements and applicable standards and are authorized to use the UL Mark.
