North American certification
UL currently offers North America component Recognition and Listing for Residential and Commercial controls in accordance with traditional North America Standards as well as UL Standards harmonized with IEC 60730. UL additionally offers Recognition of thermal links in accordance with UL 60691 which is harmonized with IEC 60691.
Since UL 60730 and UL 60691 are harmonized with IEC 60730 and IEC 60691 respectively, UL, through a single integrated evaluation and test program, provides bundled services to residential and commercial customers as well as Thermal Link manufacturers enabling them to sell their components beyond North America. For line voltage thermostats, UL provides testing and adjunct certification in accordance with clause 4.3 of C828, the Canadian standard for Performance Requirements for Thermostats Used with Individual Electric Space Heating.
