Products and standards

UL can test gas-fired cooking appliances to all major standards for safety. Products covered under this program include baking and roasting ovens, food warmers, combination ovens, ranges, broilers, fryers, grills, griddles, and other commercial, industrial and institutional equipment. UL can evaluate gas-only fired units, or units that use a combination of gas and other heat sources such as wood, coal or electric heat. UL also evaluates outdoor gas grills, portable camping stoves and other types of cooking equipment.
