UL Tops in Issuing CB Test Certificates for the IT Equipment and Batteries Categories
Accounting for 24% and 70% of world market respectively
While maintaining its leadership position in issuing CB test certificates for the BATT (Battery) category, UL also ranked first in 2010 in the issuance of CB certificates for the OFF (IT Equipment) category. This demonstrates that UL is the National Certification Body (NCB) of choice in the industry when it comes to certifying to the safety standards of electrical and electronic components, equipment and products.
According to the newly released IECEE report on CB Test Certificates Issued in 2010, the UL family of companies issued the largest number of CB certificates for the OFF and BATT categories.
In the OFF category, the UL family of companies in total issued 8,023 certificates, accounting for 24% of the total number of certificates (33,289) issued in 2010. In 2010, UL Canada issued 144 certificates; UL Demko issued 4,269 certificates; UL Japan, 1,284 certificates; and UL USA, 2,326 certificates.
In the BATT category, UL Demko issued 245 certificates representing 70% of the total number (348) of CB test certificates issued in 2010, which once again puts UL as the leading organization in CB test certification.
Overall, UL is the first runner up in the total number of CB test certificates in all categories issued worldwide. It accounts for about 14.7% of the 71,892 certificates issued in 2010.
In addition to being a NCB, UL also has a strong global network of CB Testing Laboratories capable of providing CB testing for major hi-tech products. Thus we are able to offer our customers a one-stop access to markets around the world.
