Low-lead certification services
Signed into law by President Obama on January 4, 2011, the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act redefines "lead-free" under the Safe Drinking Water Act. While the new Federal law provides a 36-month implementaion period similar legislation had already been passed in California, Maryland and Vermont with effective dates as far back as January 1, 2010.
To assist manufacturers in demonstrating compliance to the low-lead laws, UL offers certification to ANSI/NSF 372.
