Most people assume the products they use everyday are safe. They expect products to operate safely, and that they are safe to use. But how does anyone really know? Does someone actually check products before they're sold?

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) does! UL helps to make sure the products people buy operate safely and are safe to use. At our laboratories we smash, burn, explode, drop ... basically trash the products people use every day.

With public safety at the heart of UL's mission, UL and various units of The Walt Disney company have partnered on a groundbreaking in-school safety program called Safety Smart® - empowering students to be responsible and make "safety smart" decisions.
