Automatic Sprinklers

UL is capable of testing sprinklers sampled from field installations in accordance with the requirements of the NFPA Standard for Testing and Maintenance of Water Extinguishing Systems, NFPA 25.

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has been testing and certifying automatic sprinklers for more than 100 years. UL has the ability to test and List sprinklers to the requirements of the Standards for Automatic Sprinklers for Fire-Protection Services, UL 199, and Early Suppression-Fast Response Sprinklers, UL 1767. UL can also certify automatic sprinklers to the related ISO sprinkler standards.

As a service to building owners, authorities having jurisdication (AHJs) and insurance companies, UL is also capable of testing sprinklers sampled from field installations in accordance with the requirements of the NFPA Standard for Testing and Maintenance of Water Extinguishing Systems, NFPA 25.

UL has the tools you can use to develop your sprinklers. UL has full-scale fire test capabilities as well as small-scale testing of water drop size, velocity and heat release rate. UL also offers Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer testing and Actual Delivered Density testing.
