Roofing Materials

For over a century, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has worked with the roofing industry to develop standards that evaluate and measure distinct characteristics of the performance of roofing materials and systems with respect to fire safety and/or property protection. UL remains committed to fulfilling the demands of the roofing industry marketplace, giving manufacturers a single source for all of their testing and certification needs.

Roofing products and systems are tested and evaluated for fire resistance and performance-related characteristics for the protection of building structures from weather-related events.

UL offers the following testing and certification services for roofing materials and systems:

Wind Uplift

UL's new 12-foot-by-24-foot wind uplift test apparatus (pictured at right) further enhances UL's roof system testing and certification services.
