The Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government of Ireland is consulting the public on the proposal to ban microbeads on the sale, manufacture and import of certain cosmetics, personal care products and detergents containing plastic microbeads.

The proposal aims to eliminate microbeads on seas and oceans coming from some cosmetics, body care products, toothpastes, scouring agents and detergents
