The European Commission (EC) has issued Commission Regulation (EU) 20171224 amending Annex V to Regulation (EC) No 12232009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on cosmetic products.

The regulation revises the maximum concentration of 2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one used in rinse-off products from 0,01 % weight/weight (100 ppm) to 0,0015 %.

  • Effective date: July 26, 2017
  • Only cosmetic products which comply shall be placed on the Union market: January 27, 2018
  • Only cosmetic products which comply shall be made available on the Union market: April 27, 2018
