The European Commission (EC) has issued Commission Regulation (EU) 20171203 about Organic Silicon (monomethylsilanetriol) and Calcium Phosphoryl Oligosaccharides (POs-Ca®) Added to Foods and Used in the Manufacture of Food Supplements.

This regulation specifies the following:

  1. Point B of Annex II to Directive 2002/46/EC is amended as follows: 
    1. the following entry is inserted after the entry for ‘silicic acid’: ‘organic silicon (monomethylsilanetriol)’;
    2. the following entry is inserted after the entry ‘calcium sulphate’: ‘calcium phosphoryl oligosaccharides’.
  2. In point 2 of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006, the following entry is inserted after the entry ‘calcium sulphate’: ‘calcium phosphoryl oligosaccharides’.

The regulation was enacted on July 5, 2017 and took effect on July 27, 2017.
