On June 16, 2017, the Standardization Administration of China announced the public consultation for Draft national standard for composite food contact materials (FCMs) and articles.

The draft standard establishes various requirements for composite food contact materials. This will be part of the GB 4806 series.

The draft specifies the following:

  • the scope of application;
  • increased requirements for raw materials and additives;
  • increased indicators to measure solvent residues, migration of aromatic primary amine and bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) and its derivatives, among other tests.
