Energy meter testing
Improvement in energy meter technology over recent years has seen an increased need for product compliance. In some markets energy meters are required to be tested for metrology (accuracy), mechanical properties, environmental properties and EMC requirements.
Energy meter testing is a process where a specified electromechanical or electronic electricity meter is compared under various normal and abnormal conditions with a laboratory - standard meter to ensure its measurement accuracy is maintained in the field.
UL Australasia has recently extended its meter testing capability at its Christchurch laboratory and has global accreditation for the US, European and Australian markets.
