Technical Summit for
Consumer Product Industries

ITE, Appliances & Lighting leaders discuss
compliances strategies

Following on the success of the Greater China Information Technology Equipment (ITE) Technical Summit in 2006, UL hosted another forum in May, this year, for the ITE and Appliances and Lighting (A&L) industries.

About 100 industry representatives and decision makers attended the Summit held in Ise, Japan.

Despite their existing competitive edge, consumer products manufacturers in the Greater China region find it essential to learn about various product safety compliance approaches in order to gain confidences from their overseas customers.

During the Summit, participants met UL’s principal engineers from the United States and experts from Greater China to share updates on developments of applicable st ds and strategies for participating in various certification programs. Other activities included expert seminars, technical breakout sessions, Q&A interaction, visits to facilities like EMC laboratory and other networking opportunities.

Below are some topics and issues discussed at the Summit:

  Lighting (Q1-Q5)
  Information Technology Equipment (Q6-Q8)
  Standards Development (Q9-Q10)
