We offer convenient service to clients who seek to combine the financial strength of New York City with UL's assistance in product safety certification. Located on Long Island, UL Melville is easy to reach. All major airports in the area are accessible Islip-MacArthur, LaGuardia, Kennedy, and Newark. And the "Big Apple" (New York City) is 45 minutes west by car or train. Over 800 engineers, technicians and administrative staff work in Melville to serve clients in the American Northeast and countries worldwide in fulfillment of UL's safety mission. This trained and experienced staff, our large and diverse laboratory facilities and a unique dedication to public safety are the elements that give UL's Melville facility the versatility necessary to handle a wide variety of investigations. We evaluate such innovative products as robotics, computer systems, as well as established products like kitchen appliances and personal grooming items. Melville's engineering operation is divided in three units -- Electronics, Lighting, and Power, and Materials. Our Follow-Up Services division handles continuing product inspections for the Northeastern United States, as well as international inspection services, and quality and reliability assessments. Follow-up Services operates in over 70 countries around the world. |
